I am a 57-year-old Swede, father of two children, married to Susann.
Presently, I am on leave from the Swedish agency Tillväxtanalys, where I have covered mainly environment, energy and innovation. From Nov 2015 to Dec 2016 I was Science and Innovation Counsellor at the Swedish Embassy in Tokyo, dealing with research and development policies in Japan and South Korea. Previously, I held different positions in the Swedish government services, inter alia as Deputy State Secretary in the Ministry for the Environment and as Political Adviser to Foreign Minister Anna Lindh 1998-2001. I have also been Editorial writer at the newspaper Aftonbladet for seven years and Editor-in-chief of Ny Teknik, the leading technology magazine in Sweden.
As a journalist, I have written extensively on European affairs, on environment and on technology. In addition to articles in Swedish newspapers, my texts have been published by inter alia EUObserver, European Voice, Foreign Policy Centre, New Statesman, NRC Handelsblatt, OpenDemocracy, and on a number of international websites. I am the author of two books.
